Terms of Service — Buddy AI Navigator

Effective: July 3, 2026 Last revised: September 26, 2026 Version: v1.2

These Terms set out the conditions for using the AI personal assistant app “Buddy AI Navigator” (“Buddy AI” for short; formerly Knowledge Navigator) (the “Service”). By using the Service, you are deemed to have agreed to these Terms.

Article 1 — General Provisions and Scope

  1. These Terms set out the conditions governing use of the AI personal assistant application “Buddy AI Navigator” (the “Service”), provided by NOBUHIRO KAWACHI (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
  2. By using the Service, you are deemed to have agreed to all provisions of these Terms.
  3. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.
  4. We may revise these Terms as necessary. Revised Terms will be published on this page. For material changes, we will give notice within the app or in the App Store update notes.

Article 2 — Description of the Service

The Service provides the following features:

We may improve, add to, change, or discontinue the Service. However, where a change would be significantly disadvantageous to paid plan users, we will give advance notice.

Article 3 — Eligibility

  1. The Service is not available to persons under 13 years of age.
  2. Persons aged 13 or older but under 18 must obtain the consent of a parent or guardian before use.
  3. If misuse is discovered, we may restrict or suspend use of the Service without prior notice.

Article 4 — Special Provisions for AI Features

4-1. Nature of AI-generated content

Suggestions, answers, and summaries generated by the AI characters in the Service (“AI Output”) are provided as reference information only. Please note the following:

Our liability for damages arising from the use of AI Output is limited to the extent set out in Article 9.

4-2. Use of third-party AI services

The Service uses the Claude API provided by Anthropic, PBC.

If you prefer not to use personalization, you may leave the profile fields blank, or use “Reset profile” on the settings screen.

4-3. Emergencies

The Service is not a substitute for emergency calls, medical care, ambulance services, or safety checks. In an emergency such as sudden illness, injury, an accident, or a disaster, contact the public emergency services directly (in Japan, 119 or 110).

4-4. Information about shops, facilities, and other third parties

Information the Service provides about shops and facilities (opening days and hours, location, prices, whether they are open or closed, and so on) is based on information found on the web and may be out of date. Please confirm directly with the shop or facility before visiting. We do not receive advertising fees or referral fees from any shop or facility the Service recommends.

4-5. Fraud check

The fraud check result is a guide to prompt caution. A result of “safe” does not guarantee that a message is not fraudulent. If you are asked to transfer money or enter personal information, or have any doubt, consult your family, the police consultation line (#9110 in Japan), or the Consumer Hotline (188 in Japan).

4-6. Recording and meeting minutes

If you record other people speaking, for example in a meeting, obtain their consent in advance. If your workplace restricts recording or the use of external services, follow those rules.

Article 5 — Personal Information and Data

For details on how personal information is handled, please see our separate Privacy Policy. Conversation history and profile information are stored on your device. Conversation Memory is stored in a database located in Singapore.

Article 6 — Pricing Plans

The Service offers the following plans:

6-1. Price and free trial

6-2. Payment, renewal, and cancellation

Article 7 — Prohibited Conduct

You may not:

  1. Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
  2. Use the Service for illegal purposes, or for acts contrary to public order and morals
  3. Infringe the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or reputation of us or any third party
  4. Gain unauthorized access to the Service, or place an excessive load on our servers
  5. Reinstall the app, or take any other action, for the purpose of circumventing usage limits
  6. Use the AI agents for spam, phishing, or fraud
  7. Enter information about a third party without that third party’s consent

Article 8 — Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights relating to the Service — including software, design, trademarks, logos, and characters — belong to us. These Terms do not transfer or license any intellectual property rights to you, except to the extent necessary to use the Service.

Article 9 — Disclaimer

  1. The Service is provided AS-IS. We do not guarantee that the Service will be continuous, uninterrupted, or error-free.
  2. If you suffer damage for which we are responsible, we are liable only for direct and ordinary damages. Where we are only slightly negligent, our liability is limited to the total fees you paid for the Service in the 12 months up to and including the month in which the damage occurred.
  3. The limitation in the preceding paragraph does not apply in cases of our willful misconduct or gross negligence.

Article 10 — Suspension and Termination of the Service

We may suspend the Service due to system maintenance, force majeure, or failures in third-party services such as the Claude API, databases, or servers.
